Dr Richard Poiré is Director of the ANU node of the Australian Plant Phenomics Network and a research infrastructure leader at the Research School of Biology. His work focuses on controlled-environment plant phenotyping, non-invasive imaging and data-driven approaches to understand how crops respond to environmental stresses. Richard has designed and operated high-throughput phenotyping platforms from glasshouse to field scale, led multidisciplinary teams delivering services to academia and industry, and developed machine learning tools that link hyperspectral signatures with plant performance. 

He oversees climate-simulation facilities that can reproduce aspects of lunar and Martian environments, enabling experiments on how plants might be monitored and managed for future space agriculture and biomanufacturing.
