Dr Cassandra Steer's essay on “Australia’s Maturing Space Capabilities in a National and Regional Context” is in the Asia Policy Journal. Part of a roundtable of essays on “Asia’s Space Ambitions”, which includes a range of important countries in the region, Cassandra’s piece talks about Australia’s common narrative as an underdog and how this fits with our nascent identity as a space middle power, our consistent space policy history of investing in ground infrastructure, and what a uniquely Australian approach to space might entail, based on the Australian Space Agency’s First Nations Engagement Team mission.
