Professor Anna Moore, Director of InSpace was delighted to MC at Space Industry Association of Australia’s Southern Space conference. 

Day 2 kicked with an excellent address from Assistant Minister Andrew Charlton, followed by keynotes from Australian of the Year 2026 Katherine Bennell-Pegg.

Professor Moore was honoured to moderate the panel on EU-Australia cooperation in space that included His Excellency Gabriele Visentin, EU Ambassador to Australia, First assistant secretary (DFAT) Cathy Raper and lead on the EU-Australia free trade agreement, Luke Phillips A/g General manager, space partnerships at Australian Space Agency and representing the commercial launch sector, Lloyd Damp CEO of Southern Launch.

The audience heard about the multiple framework agreements between Europe and Australia including the FTA, Horizon Europe, national security and defence and European Space Agency - ESA, and how combined this offers a step change in growth opportunities for our space sector.
