Happy 60th Anniversary to the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex!

Happy 60th Anniversary to the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex! Did you know, there are only three NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Deep Space Network stations in the world, and there's one right here in Canberra operated by CSIRO!

Here at ANU Institute for Space | InSpace, we're thrilled to join in celebrating this milestone for such an important piece of ACT-based space infrastructure, which provides critical communications to space missions throughout the solar system and beyond.

At ANU InSpace, we're proud to be a part of building on this historic legacy with next-generation optical communications capability to provide high-speed communications from Earth orbit to the moon and beyond. With funding from the Australian Space Agency Moon to Mars Demonstrator Program, ANU InSpace is upgrading the Quantum Optical Ground Station at The Australian National University to be capable of providing southern hemisphere optical communications support for future lunar missions.

Congratulations to the Canberra Deep Space Communications Complex on your 60th Anniversary! Here's to many more years of work and collaboration in this critical and ever-growing industry.
