Last week, ANU InSpace Business Development Manager, Natasha Disha, attended the 6th Summit for Space Sustainability, held at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Tokyo, Japan.
This high-level, multi-day forum was co-hosted by the Secure World Foundation (SWF) and the National Space Policy Secretariat of the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan to highlight opportunities and challenges for developing solutions for space sustainability.
"I found it immensely beneficial to explore collaboration opportunities in space debris tracking, space testing, and space sustainability education at the conference," Natasha said. "The coexistence of government agencies and industries at the meeting made it an efficacious platform for consequential dialogues aimed at directly contributing to establishing legislation ensuring space sustainability. Equally noteworthy was the opportunity presented to industries and research organisations to discuss the effective technologies contributing to a sustainable space environment."
As a recipient of the SGAC-BryceTech-HEO-SWF Scholarship, Natasha found immeasurable value in engaging with her peers and mentors and forging enduring connections within the international space industry.
