Curious what the Australian public thinks about space?
The Australian Centre for Space Governance (ACGS) answers this question in their article for The Conversation.
Authored by Dr. Tristan Moss, Dr. Kathryn Robison Hasani, PhD, and Dr. Aleksandar Deejay, and reviewed by Dr. Cassandra Steer, the article summarises ACSG's most recent report documenting Australian public attitudes towards space activities.
ANU InSpace is proud to have supported the establishment of the Australian Centre for Space Governance in 2022 and to see it launch as its own entity in 2023. The release of this timely, informative, first-of-its kind report is an exciting milestone, and there is much to be learned from the data.
ANU InSpace Deputy Director, Dr. Cassandra Steer, who holds the Chair of the ACSG, says, "This report provides insights into how the Australian public thinks about space investment, what it considers to be important, and also areas where there is not a lot of awareness. We hope this report will be of use to federal and state governments and industry, and will assist research institutes like InSpace. It's exactly the kind of expert-driven work that the ACSG was established to produce."
