On 25 March 2024, InSpace was thrilled to host Jarrod Powell, General Manager, National Space Capability, Technology and Programs at the Australian Space Agency, to showcase the key space capabilities at ANU that have been supported by the ASA.

The visit included the new space radiation beamline at the Heavy Ion Accelerators Facility and the National Space Test Facility, both of which received funding from the ASA's Space Infrastructure Fund. These facilities provide space qualification capabilities to accelerate Australian space manufacturing growth and ensure high levels of reliability for mission success.

We also toured the newly opened ANU Quantum Optical Ground Station, which will be upgraded with lunar optical communication capabilities through the ASA's Moon to Mars Demonstrator Mission Grants. This facility will provide high speed, high capacity, and secure satellite communications to help meet the growing global demand for space-to-ground communications.
