CBR Space Industry Cooperative's latest CBR Space Breakfast took place on Wednesday 10 April 2024 and was hosted by ANU InSpace.
This CBR Space Breakfast event focussed on space as critical infrastructure and what this means for the Asia-Pacific region.
Taking place at the ANU InSpace headquarters, there was lots of engagement and networking over a delicious breakfast, provided by Canberra catering outfit Bella's Feast, followed by a dynamic panel discussion that investigated where opportunities exist in our back yard.
The panel, moderated by Karen Schilling, had an excellent line-up, featuring Mani Thiru, Nicolette Yeo, James Prior, and ANU InSpace Associate Director Strategic Projects Kate Ferguson, who discussed .
The dynamic discussion about the relevance of space-enabled capabilities for the Asia-Pacific region led to many key takeaways for future collaborations between Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. ANU InSpace Business Development Manager Christopher Kourloufas says, "What resonated most with me was Mani’s call to the space industry to consider opportunities beyond the 'go-to' options. This is exactly what our engagement with the ANU College of Asia & the Pacific researchers has revealed to us. Space data and technologies can enrich so many fields, and we’re working together with our researchers, government, and industry to see how we can bring value to society in new ways."
We’re so pleased to have hosted this opportunity for networking and resource-sharing within the space community. ANU InSpace Marketing Manager Krysia Derecki says, "This was such a great event for InSpace to host, bringing the space community together thanks to the CBR Space Industry Cooperative’s breakfast event initiative. We are all passionate about communicating the good news stories that space is about innovation, technological advancement, and regional collaboration, all of which help make life better for people on earth."
Special thanks to ACT Government for your support of this event, and to Bella's Feast for catering a beautiful breakfast.
