During the Artemis II mission, Glenn scientists traveled to Australia to support a laser communications demonstration using the Orion Artemis II Optical Communications System (O2O) terminal, which sent high-definition imagery to Earth using infrared light.

Over the last year, the team worked with Australian National University to turn a telescope into a working optical ground station using commercial off-the-shelf parts. More: https://lnkd.in/ewXNS9P3

During the Artemis II mission, O2O also provided high-definition video and imagery to those watching the broadcast at home. Watch for the subtle shift in video clarity as Orion switches from the Deep Space Network to O2O
