Francois Lambert is a Commercial Lawyer and a Special Advisor on Commercial Space Law at The Australian National University Institute for Space (ANU InSpace).
He has served as Legal Counsel for organisations such as IBM and NETSCOUT, supporting the delivery of high-value technology deals within the complexity of the aerospace, defence, telecom, security, and IT industries. He has also worked at Airbus and was Legal Lead at the GSA, the European agency in charge of satellite navigation, earth observation, and security operations, where he led major space-related procurement procedures for the European GALILEO, EGNOS, and Copernicus programs.
Francois' focus is on commercial law as it relates to space and novel technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI), to solve important problems in the world. He is also the co-author of “European Trajectories in Space Law” (European Commission/Bruylant), an in-depth look at the legal and policy challenges for Europe in areas such as private space travel and exploitation of space resources.
